Responsibilities

• Mix and measure ingredients to form dough or batter for recipes.
• Roll, cut, and shape dough to form rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, and related bakery products.
• Cut, peel, and prepare fruit for pie fillings, baking cakes, and preparing icing.
• Train assistants and maintain cleanliness of the bakery.
• Maintain records of customer orders.
• Provide quality customer service and take cake orders.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stored separately.
• Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures to ensure they are correct and maintained.
• Rotate merchandise in accordance with labels and maintain department plan-o-grams and schematics.
• Monitor shrink within the department and ensure all orders are completed in accordance with the production schedule.
• Ensure machinery is in good operating order.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and product rotation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic kitchen skills, familiar with food preparation in a bakery department.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

• Walking: Continuously, throughout shift, while moving about the store and handling merchandise.
• Standing: Continuously, throughout shift.
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
