Bakery Clerk

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Bakery Clerk to provide friendly customer service while supporting the daily operations of our Bakery Department. This position includes baking bread and other bakery products, preparing and heating simple bakery and café items, frying designated products, preparing basic coffee, juices, and other beverages, packaging and labeling products, restocking and organizing displays, rotating merchandise, and maintaining high standards of freshness, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Bake bread and other bakery products
• Prepare and heat simple bakery and café items (e.g., arepas, toast, ham & cheese croissants)
• Fry designated products following established preparation, quality, and food-safety procedures
• Prepare basic coffee, juices, and other beverages
• Package and label bakery products
• Restock, organize, and maintain bakery displays and product areas
• Rotate merchandise and monitor freshness, quality, presentation, pricing, labels, and product availability
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked bakery displays, counters, workstations, ovens, and equipment
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and other Bakery duties as needed

Requirements

• Must be able to work rotating shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays as needed
• Previous experience as a Bakery Clerk, Bakery Associate, Bakery Counter Clerk, Bakery Assistant, Food Service worker, Retail Food employee, Customer Service representative, or Auxiliar de Panadería preferred
• Experience baking bread or other bakery products and working with ovens or bakery equipment preferred
• Willingness to prepare and heat simple bakery and café items
• Willingness to fry designated products
• Experience packaging, labeling, organizing, restocking, and displaying bakery or food products preferred
• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods
• Excellent customer-service skills with a positive attitude, reliability, punctuality, and ability to work as part of a team
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, but not required

Schedule

Rotating shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays as needed.
