Bakery Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Bakery Manager at Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Bakery by leading production efforts, training staff, and ensuring high quality products. This position works closely with the Bakery Manager to develop and implement production and quality goals and standards.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Bakery Manager to develop and implement production and quality goals and standards relating to the Bakery
• Creates daily and weekly workflows and prep/production lists aligned to sales forecasts and data to promote minimized loss and optimized sales
• Leads with an approachable positive personality to influence a fun and exciting work environment and customer experience
• Aids in the development of menus based on seasonally available ingredients, prioritizing sustainable and organic, sourced from local farms
• Operates a variety of specialized foodservice equipment including large scale, commercial equipment

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have 5+ years of kitchen management experience
• Must be available early morning and weekends
• Essential Skills & Experience:
  • A passion for local food and an interest in telling the story behind it
  • Able to conduct oneself in an honest, professional, and respectful manner at all times
  • Able to interact with people well and possess a desire for excellent customer service
  • Able to take direction, work independently, and as a member of a team, and create working relationships
