Bakery Assistant Department Manager

Pay

Wage: $21.00 per hour. Hiring bonus: $3,000.00.

Responsibilities

• Develop game plans and plan‑ograms for department merchandising in collaboration with the Buying team.
• Understand retail label systems and coordinate with Scan, General Management, and Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
• Assign duties, schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations for team members based on business needs and store events.
• Train team members on store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties to maintain productivity and safety.
• Supervise and conduct departmental inventories to ensure accuracy.
• Assume Department Manager responsibilities when needed.
• Communicate with Buying and General Management regarding merchandising, new product implementation, and pricing.
• Follow directions promptly and coordinate vendor, SKH, and inter‑company invoices daily for timely billing.
• Act as a working manager, performing tasks required for smooth division operation.
• Utilize knowledge of inventory and ordering systems to order supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
• Maintain and operate departmental equipment.

Requirements

• Previous managerial or bakery experience.
• Ability to calculate discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume.
• Physical ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lb (frequently up to 50 lb).
• Regular use of hands for handling tools, objects, or controls.
• Exposure to hot temperatures while working around kitchen equipment.
