Responsibilities
- Prepare dishes, follow the recipe, and yield guides.
- Absorb and apply knowledge of pastries, wedding cakes, and specialty items.
- Assist in decorating cakes and pastries.
- Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in the designated area.
- Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
- Set up and break down the workstation.
- Routinely run for food and restock all kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
- Communicate, direct, and assist management, chef, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of baking experience.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Working knowledge of weights and measures.
- Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, beverage machines, mixers, VCR, and small wares.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
