BAKER (FULL TIME)
About the role
Fresh Ideas is hiring immediate full-time BAKERS at Cowley College located at 125 South 2nd Street, Arkansas City, KS 67005. Online applications are accepted only. The schedule is full-time Monday through Friday with varying hours. Prior baking experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries according to recipes and production specifications.
- Aid in production planning to meet daily requirements.
- Ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes, adhering to production standards, and using appropriate equipment.
- Complete production records including waste tracking, portion control, and product shortages; inform supervisor when supplies are low.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
- Handle foods safely and appropriately during preparation and service.
- Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly and customer-service-oriented manner.
- Check that all food is presented, served, and displayed according to standards.
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines in handling food and equipment, ensuring compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Perform shift work as assigned in a timely and thorough manner according to department standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
