About the role

Prepare, bake, and display bakery products in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner while ensuring all products are fresh, rotated, and well-stocked for customers. Maintain excellent customer service and work as a collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service or assistance.
• Commit to the “Golden Rule” and collaborate with associates to build a strong bakery team.
• Work in a style that is Respectful, Supportive, and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO) to achieve high associate morale.
• Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise; verify items listed on vendor invoices for quality, count, and condition.
• Rotate bakery ingredients and merchandise according to company policy, using the oldest products first (first in, first out).
• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control; handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy.
• Take stock to storage or shelf areas.
• Prepare baking mixtures following established company procedures and recipes.
• Pan up frozen products, pan and roll bread, and load/unload ovens; ensure proper temperatures and baking durations.
• Operate mixers, write on cakes, and prepare products to meet customer specifications.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations, including safety, health, and packaging requirements.
• Practice the “Cleaner’s Creed” and proper sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and observe company dress code, including wearing an approved hat or hair net.
• Keep display cases, coolers, freezers, walls, fans, drains, equipment, utensils, and work tables clean and organized.
• Wipe countertops and front display cases.
• Exercise proper safety practices when lifting, moving product, or using equipment.
• Restock and use supply items efficiently to minimize waste and maintain low supply costs.
• Promote items using the public address system.
• Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or property defacement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Read, write, speak, and understand English; follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work a schedule based on business needs.

Continuous movement of the entire body is required.

Working Conditions

Work environment is indoors with exposure to cold and hot temperatures.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is $15.40 - $20.10 per hour. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
