About the Role

Baggers create an exceptional customer service experience by providing prompt and courteous service through greetings, assisting in locating items, and properly bagging and carrying items for customers. Essential duties are accurate summaries of what the job classification involves and what is required to perform it.

Responsibilities

• Package groceries purchased by customers into plastic, paper, or cloth bags while strategically arranging items to avoid damage or breakage.
• Provide fast and efficient service by checking for leftover items in baskets/carts, placing packaged items back in baskets/carts, and replenishing bags as necessary.
• Load grocery items into customer vehicles when requested.
• Bring unused baskets/carts from the parking lot or store back to the designated area and clean any items left as necessary.
• Return unpurchased items to the shelves and assist cashiers with providing product replacements as needed.
• Maintain a clean environment throughout the store and parking lot by wiping spills, sweeping floors, removing litter, mopping, etc.
• Comply with safety standards and report malfunctioning equipment as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including day, evening, and weekend shifts.
• Exceptional customer service skills, creating an excellent store experience by packing purchases with care, offering assistance, and maintaining a friendly and polite attitude.
• Ability to memorize the store layout and product locations to assist with customer inquiries and efficiently locate items.
• Knowledge of and experience complying with equipment, safety principles, practices, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of people and property.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate equipment necessary to perform the duties of the position.
• Strong teamwork skills to aid co-workers.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent walking and standing.
• Frequently kneel, stoop, reach, push, pull, and carry medium to heavy items.
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors, subject to weather and climate conditions.
