Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a dependable and motivated Baffles Assembler with entry-level welding experience to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. This position requires basic GMAW/MIG welding skills, the ability to use hand and air-powered tools, accurately read a tape measure, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate is someone who has some basic welding experience and is looking to develop their skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Attention to detail, safety, quality, dependability, and teamwork are essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assemble prefabricated metal panels and structural components using MIG welding and bolt-on assembly methods.
- Perform tack and stitch welding using the GMAW/MIG welding process.
- Work with various metals, including mild steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum.
- Use hand and air-powered tools, including:
- Drills
- Grinders
- Cutting wheels
- Wrenches
- Clamps
- Other hand and power tools as required
- Accurately read and interpret a tape measure; a tape measure test will be required.
- Follow written work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and verbal directions as required.
- Properly position, align, and secure components during the assembly process.
- Inspect completed work to ensure assemblies meet company quality standards.
- Safely lift, move, and maneuver metal components weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards.
- Work cooperatively with team members to meet production schedules and quality goals.
- Assist other departments and perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain consistent attendance and dependability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Welding, fabrication, or manufacturing coursework is a plus but not required.
- Entry-level welding training or technical school experience is preferred.
- Basic GMAW/MIG welding skills.
