Security Clearance / Suitability: No federal clearance required. Must pass City of Canton background check, comply with City cybersecurity, backup, and disaster recovery policies, and maintain confidentiality of City data and systems.
About the Role
Manages backup operations, disaster recovery planning, and restore testing for all covered systems.
Requirements
- Backups must occur every 8 hours minimum
- Define RTO and RPO
- Conduct annual restore testing
- Define retention periods
- 8+ years of experience in backup administration, disaster recovery, or business continuity
- Experience with Veeam, Azure, and on-premises backup systems
- Experience defining RTO/RPO, retention policies, and performing restore testing
- Experience supporting municipal or enterprise environments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
Responsibilities
- Manage backup schedules and retention policies
- Monitor backup success/failure
- Perform annual restore tests and document results
- Ensure near-real-time incremental backups where possible
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution
Qualifications
Preferred certifications:
- Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
- Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- CompTIA Server+ or Cloud+
