Backhoe Operator - Asphalt Milling

About the role

Safely operate a Backhoe machine to dig, lift and move materials in asphalt milling and paving operations to prepare for pavement preparation – resurfacing highways, roadways, parking lots, etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
• Operate a backhoe to prepare and support road and pavement projects
• Work alongside milling machines to remove asphalt and prepare surfaces for paving
• Support asphalt milling crews by preparing and cleaning work areas and moving debris
• Operate other pieces of heavy equipment such as skid steers and brooms as needed
• Combine excavation and paving support roles
• Overtime work is required
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma / GED
• Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Backhoe Operator preferred
• Physical Demands: Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching; requires lifting up to 50 lbs; potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather

Schedule
