About the role

This position is responsible for filling pillows and cushion ticks (covers) with natural feather, down, or polyester fiber products. Lifting on a repetitive basis is required. Employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders
  • Fill fiber and feather backs and seats
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Maintain a steady work pace in a high-volume department
  • Read and interpret a tape measure
  • Perform basic math skills
  • Hold tick (cover) over the port to allow the blowing of filler material into the pillow or cushion ticks
  • Weigh each filled pillow or cover on a scale to maintain quality standards based on customer specifications
  • Move the filled ticks (covers) to the end closing area to enclose the openings
  • Learn how to enclose the pillows or cushions using the enclosing (sewing) machine

Requirements

  • High school education or GED
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
  • Some sewing (machine) experience (1 year)
  • Pillow filling experience preferred (1 year)

Pay

Hourly rate: $19.57–$20.13 per hour, with a $1.00 shift differential for all hours worked on 2nd or 3rd shifts.

Schedule

Sunday–Thursday, 8:30 PM–5:00 AM, depending on business needs.
