Backend Software Engineer (Robotics Data)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-throughput data storage and processing systems specifically for robotic transport telemetry and sensor data
• Build the backend frameworks that perform real-time and post-trip analysis on robotic performance and environment mapping
• Ensure that the data architecture can scale as our fleet size grows, maintaining low latency for mission-critical robotic feedback loops
• Work closely with the firmware team to define how data is structured and transmitted from the robot to our storage clusters
• Ensure that all data collected from robotic transport is securely stored and meets industry standards for compliance and reliability

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of backend development with a heavy focus on data architecture
• Data Heavy Focus: Proven experience with time-series databases, large-scale data processing (e.g., Kafka, Spark, or custom Python/C++ streams), and cloud/on-prem storage optimization
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of backend languages (Python, C++, or Go) and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Collaborative Spirit: A preference for in-person collaboration at our Gainesville headquarters
• Bonus Points: Experience with ROS/ROS2 (Robot Operating System)

Pay

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000, Equity eligible
