Backend Platform Engineer – Java / Data Platform

About the role

Location: New York, New York (Hybrid) - Onsite 2-3 days/week, W2 ONLY (no sponsorship). We are looking for a Backend Platform Engineer to build and support large-scale backend services and data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Java.
• Develop platform infrastructure and tooling used by engineering teams.
• Build and improve data pipelines supporting large-scale data systems.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical platform services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform capabilities and developer workflows.

Requirements

• Large Enterprise Technology Company Experience – Experience supporting high-scale, business-critical systems.
• Backend Engineering / Java – Strong hands-on experience building scalable backend services using Java.
• Platform Engineering & Data Pipelines – Experience building platform services and a strong understanding of designing and building data pipelines.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend and/or platform engineering.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance.
