Backend Java Full Stack Developer
Our client, a leading provider in the airlines industry, is seeking a Backend Java Full Stack Developer to support the team that manages customer communications throughout the travel journey—from booking through flight completion. Notifications are delivered via text, email, Apple/Google Wallet, Live Activities, and other customer-facing channels.
Contract Details: 6-month contract with possibility of extensions. Local candidates only; onsite interview required.
About the Role
This hybrid position requires onsite presence Tuesday through Thursday in Tempe, AZ. You will develop, enhance, and support backend applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer notification capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support backend applications using Java and Spring/Spring Boot
- Work with teams across the organization to deliver customer notification capabilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within a highly visible, business-critical application
- Support ongoing enhancements and new development as priorities evolve
- Participate in an on-call rotation as needed
- Collaborate with technical teams to maintain reliable, scalable customer-facing services
Requirements
- Strong Java backend development experience
- Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and enterprise applications
- Full-stack development experience (preferred, but primary focus is backend Java)
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Airline industry experience
- Customer notification or messaging platforms
- Experience with Apple/Google Wallet, iOS Live Activities, or mobile notifications
- Android/Kotlin or iOS development experience
- Databricks/data lakes experience
Pay
The approximate pay range for this position is $33.00–$48.00 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on background, knowledge, skills, and location.
