Backend Engineer

About the role

We are building next-generation AI creative tools at Krea. Our mission is to empower human creativity through intuitive and controllable AI, enabling expression in various formats including text, images, video, sound, and 3D.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain private APIs for our main web and mobile applications.
• Design database models.
• Fix issues related to HTTP/3 handling of client-side connections to our processes.
• Implement caching solutions or better connection pooling to improve database and infrastructure performance.
• Profile and identify bottlenecks for HTTP/WebSockets requests to enable real-time image generation and even video creation.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting for our service to better respond to operational incidents.
• Scale our service via architectural changes and infrastructure improvements.
• Open-source any non-trivial innovations from our work on the product.
• Design and iterate over software development processes to build web-native and AI-native creative tools for people.
• Professionalize our main product by adding enterprise-grade features such as Audit Logs, SAML/SSO, SCIM.

Requirements

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Svelte/SvelteKit.
• Experience with Node.js, Postgres, and Redis.
• Knowledge of WebSockets and managed Kubernetes clusters on AWS.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Axiom, HyperDX, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems.
• Experience with GitHub, Slack, and Notion.
