Back up Receiver

About the role

As a Backup Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market, you play a vital role in the company by handling all receiving functions and paperwork. You will operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift safely and properly, maximize sales potential through effective receiving procedures, and maintain the cleanliness of the receiving area. This fast-paced position is essential to our success.

Responsibilities

• Perform all receiving functions and manage related paperwork.
• Operate machinery such as baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving products.
• Maintain cleanliness of the receiving area.
• Report any receiving discrepancies to Managers and Buyers to resolve issues like damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Attend applicable trainings and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Use pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., requiring a force up to 50 lbs., for distances up to 150 feet.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5" to 56", for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Execute other duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with team members, store leadership, and service vendors.
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product.
• Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to multi-task, understand proper retail receiving, and possess basic computer knowledge.
• Certification or ability to be certified in the use of appropriate equipment needed for the store or facility.
