About the role
As a back-up nanny, you will care for children in-home, engage them by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on their age-appropriate development, and support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers. Highest demand is for care of children under the age of 2.
Responsibilities
- Care for children in-home without transporting them
- No household duties other than common sense clean-up of your activities or meals with the child
- Serve families with children from infants to toddlers
- Engage children through safety and hands-on activities
- Work flexible hours, typically 6-8 hours per shift between 7 am and 7 pm
- Travel to various homes throughout the area as needed
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Experience working with children, including infant experience
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel to various homes
- Able to lift 35 pounds safely
- Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing
- Able to react quickly and calmly to emergencies
