Back Plant Operator
About the role
As a Back Plant Operator, you will be responsible for performing a variety of operational tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic industrial environment to support Reworld’s thermomechanical treatment process. This is a labor-intensive entry-level position with significant potential for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Upkeep, maintenance, and operation of the plant and its component equipment with emphasis on the ash handling and metal recovery systems.
- Execution of cleaning assignments, grounds keeping, and assisting plant operations and maintenance as requested.
- Full participation in our extensive safety program, including diligent use of the Safety Observation System in Process Map.
- Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations, as well as inspection, operation, and PM of mobile equipment.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist with corrective maintenance tasks throughout the day.
- Participate in the daily morning kickoff meeting (20-30 minutes) with the maintenance team to review the day’s work plan.
- Safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures in support of maintenance activities.
- Report equipment issues and submit repair requests using established work order processes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in the ash handling and metal recovery areas of the plant.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.

- Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.

The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range.
