Back-End Engineer
About the role
The Back-End Engineer will develop and maintain the back-end components of an application, including APIs, services, and business logic. The role involves designing and delivering robust services using Node.js/TypeScript, contributing to frontend development with React, leveraging AI and LLMs to optimize workflows, and architecting, deploying, and managing services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to translate use-cases into scalable technical solutions.
- Design and deliver robust services, primarily using Node.js/TypeScript.
- Contribute to frontend development using React to support end-to-end feature delivery.
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimize development workflows and accelerate code generation.
- Utilize and integrate with application data storage, such as Postgres, to support business logic.
- Architect, deploy, and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high availability and performance.
- Champion quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), using tools like Cucumber and Playwright.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Tekton to automate deployments.
- Apply Agile and Clean Code principles, focusing on small releases and continuous integration.
- Optimize infrastructure to improve application resiliency and monitor system health.
- Support security practices to safeguard user data through encryption and anonymization.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree is required.
- 6+ years of combined professional experience in backend development with Node.js/TypeScript.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI and LLMs is necessary.
- Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud providers.
- Experience with TDD/BDD ideologies using tools such as Cucumber and Playwright is required.
- Familiarity with front-end engineering principles using React.
- 2+ years of experience with front-end libraries such as ReactJS, VueJS, or AngularJS.
- 2+ years of professional experience with TypeScript.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Node.js, additional testing methodologies, and JavaScript.
