Requirements

• Must always present as courteous and professional;

• Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs, including the ability to learn, use, and train on the HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR);

• Understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs;
• Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries;
• Reinforce rules in a respectful manner;
• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2 (Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder) and HIPAA Regulations;
• TB/Flu and COVID-19 assessment;
• Annual completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program;
• CPR Certification;
• Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required.

Responsibilities

• Crisis intervention;
• Maintain assigned caseload;
• Provide clinical services to patients, including assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily group facilitation, group note completion, and bio-psychosocial assessments;
• Make referrals when appropriate;
• Maintain each assigned patient’s medical records, ensuring they are professional, complete, and thorough with entries made in a timely manner;
• Connect patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aid them in family access services when appropriate;
• Communicate/involve family in treatment at the patient’s request;
• Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings as directed by the Clinical Supervisor/Director;
• Pursue continued education in the field of substance use and related courses;
• Utilize standard precautions;
• Demonstrate behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by patient rights;
• Screen patient walk-ins or phone calls for services to the Masters Clinician;
• Perform care coordination activities to ensure referrals for services are completed;
• Monitor consents and releases completed upon admission and as needed thereafter;
• Assist with scheduling appointments for follow-up with nurse case manager, clinician, and other requested services;
• Attend MDT meetings and document MDT notes for patients as requested;
• Participate in program initiatives, quality projects, and program support services;
• Cover phones/reception area as needed;
• Engage in training opportunities to enhance knowledge of mental health and SUD services;
• Assume coordinator responsibilities as designated by supervisor;
• Engage and attend community events with stakeholders, agencies, and service providers;
• Coordinate care with external agencies, stakeholders, and referral sources to provide patient progress reports, compliance reports, and other requested documentation at the request of the Master's Clinician;
• Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director, Program Administrator, or Site Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field approved by licensing accreditation;
• Experience in the human services field.

Pay

Pay Range: $60,320–$70,720 salaried annually depending on experience, education, and licensure. $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM.
