About the role

Skagit Valley College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Management (BASM) program. As BASM enters its second decade and recruits its tenth cohort, the program is adding a second tenure-track faculty line to support its continued growth and evolution. BASM prepares working professionals to lead in contemporary workplaces where decisions cross functional boundaries, information is often incomplete, technology continues to reshape work, and managers are accountable for people and workplace outcomes. The curriculum uses a spiral, integrative approach that connects learning across courses and quarters, supporting transformative learning and changing how students understand their role and exercise judgment as managers. The program serves working adults through a primarily online cohort model that provides flexibility while fostering meaningful connection and wrap‑around student support. BASM is designed to anticipate and adapt to changes in student needs, management practice, and the workplace. The college seeks an experienced manager who can translate contemporary workplace practice into learning that strengthens students’ thinking and decision‑making. The successful candidate will contribute their experience and perspective to shaping the program’s next stage of growth. Faculty typically teach 15 credits per quarter across the BASM curriculum. The tenure‑track appointment is expected to begin Fall Quarter 2027, with opportunities to begin teaching earlier for candidates interested in transitioning into the program before the appointment begins. The position is based at the Mount Vernon Campus, with occasional teaching responsibilities at the Whidbey Island Campus.
