Azure Consultant
About the role
The Azure Consultant at Planet Technologies will support impactful projects that benefit the nation. This role involves scoping, assessing, planning, leading, designing, delivering, testing, and creating supporting technical documentation for customer implementation projects. The consultant must also migrate workloads to enterprise cloud platform solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create and apply processes, deliver documentation, and set standards across multiple practice areas.
- Lead and support customer projects, implementing related technologies and understanding their dependencies.
- Navigate new or unknown technical areas and quickly get up to speed to support customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, proactively responding to internal and external questions and collaborating across teams.
- Solve problems efficiently in complex environments and suggest process improvements or standardization as needed.
- Articulate escalations and communicate progress to stakeholders, when necessary.
- Own technical deployment projects, overseeing involved technologies, risks, and dependencies.
- Map technical requirements into actionable steps for deployment and handover of technical solutions.
- Design and deploy all facets of an Azure environment or a Microsoft Tenant.
- Plan and execute end-to-end implementations and support applicable migrations/deployments of target workloads.
- Maintain an above-average understanding of existing and emerging Microsoft technologies.
- Act as a liaison between technology and customer requirements, communicating accordingly to achieve desired outcomes.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess certifications for Azure including AZ-700 – Azure Network Engineer Associate, AZ-305 – Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (Solutions Architect Expert), AZ-500 – Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate, AI-103 – Azure AI App and Agent Developer Associate, and DP-203 – Azure Data Engineer Associate DP-700 - Fabric Data Engineer. They should also have a secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Skills
- Wide knowledge in Azure platforms and Entra ID, comparable or competing technologies.
- Technical leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to navigate new or unknown technical areas and quickly adapt to new situations.
- Experience with cloud computing technologies, particularly Azure Core Platform, Entra ID, Compute, AI, Storage, Data, Networking, Commercial, Government, and Azure Secret, Deployment Automation such as Terraform, Multi-cloud or multi-tenancy experience, and Microsoft Security technology stack.
- Compliance experience with NIST or CMMC frameworks.
