Most Important Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Manage cloud environments to ensure optimal system health, performance, and uptime.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure, connectivity, and Azure platform-related issues.
- Implement and support cloud security standards, identity management, and access governance.
- Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and/or Python to streamline operational processes.
- Participate in incident response activities, root cause investigations, and ongoing problem management.
- Cook up infrastructure patching, planned maintenance, and production deployment activities.
- Analyze cloud resource utilization and recommend opportunities to improve performance and optimize costs.
- Support backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
- Work closely with infrastructure, application development, and security teams to support enterprise cloud operations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and environment documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance windows as required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience administering Microsoft Azure environments in production.
- Hands-on experience supporting: Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup.
- Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID (formally Azure Active Directory).
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, and firewall concepts.
- Experience troubleshooting Azure infrastructure and production cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Azure security principles and cloud operational best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or a comparable Azure certification.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
- Exposure to containerized environments using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and cloud governance initiatives.
- Understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure and integrations.
