Azure Cloud Engineer (Platform & Identity)

About the role

The Azure Cloud Engineer will serve as a hands-on technical contributor responsible for the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This role partners closely with Architecture, Security, Data, and Application teams to ensure cloud platforms are secure, scalable, standardized, and aligned with industry best practices. This position is ideal for an experienced cloud administrator who not only understands how to operate cloud platforms, but who can also recommend improvements, define standards, document processes, and implement changes that improve reliability, efficiency, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, identity, and platform services.
• Manage and support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity lifecycle management, access controls, conditional access, security groups, and integration with cloud and SaaS platforms.
• Administer and support Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager, including device compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, and endpoint security integrations.
• Support and administer Microsoft Fabric and related data platform services from a platform and governance perspective, partnering closely with data engineering and analytics teams.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Collaborate with Architecture and DevOps teams to align cloud environments with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation standards.
• Establish and maintain cloud operational standards including naming conventions, tagging, monitoring, backups, cost management, and security baselines.
• Identify inefficiencies, technical debt, and manual processes; propose and implement automation or platform improvements.
