Acarin Inc is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to design, build, and secure large-scale Azure Government environments. This role requires an active Secret clearance and focuses on architecting secure, scalable Azure GovCloud infrastructures while ensuring FedRAMP compliance and implementing NIST-aligned security controls.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect secure, scalable Azure GovCloud infrastructures and network connectivity solutions
- Develop cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and analytics architectures for government environments
- Automate cloud provisioning using Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep to ensure consistent, FedRAMP-compliant environments
- Implement comprehensive security frameworks including Azure AD, RBAC, least-privilege access, and encryption protocols
- Apply DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks while leading architecture reviews and technical documentation
- Migrate and modernize existing systems through configuration-level changes and strategic replatforming
- Drive adoption of Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions and cloud-native architectures where feasible
- Execute rehosting strategies using Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service when PaaS solutions are not viable
- Ensure all solutions align with NIST security frameworks and government compliance requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering and architecture
- Active Secret clearance or higher (must maintain throughout employment)
- One or more required certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, CISSP, or equivalent
- Extensive experience with Azure Government Cloud (GovCloud) environments
- Proven track record with FedRAMP compliance and government security standards
Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and Azure Government Cloud
- Advanced experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)
- Deep knowledge of Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and identity management
- Strong understanding of DISA STIGs, CIS benchmarks, and NIST security frameworks
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms and analytics solutions
- Proficiency in network security, encryption, and least-privilege access principles
- Strong documentation and technical communication skills
- Ability to lead architecture reviews and present to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Azure certifications (Security Engineer, Data Engineer, etc.)
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in government environments
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Instances)
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
- Previous experience in IT consulting or professional services
- Understanding of agile methodologies and project management practices
