Axle Surgeon Apprentice- Technician

Train towards on-road axle surgeon repairs, including spindle replacement, spider plate replacement, and king pin sleeving.
Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Communicate with service advisors/dispatchers immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Ensure that vehicles are kept clean. Notify service advisors/dispatchers immediately of anything that has changed the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keep shop area neat and clean.
Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Report any safety issues immediately to management.

Stick welding experience REQUIRED.
Technician experience preferred but not required.
On-the-job training as well as in-shop trailer repair development training when schedule requires it.
Valid driver's license with no accidents or traffic violations in the last 5 years.
Ability to pass drug screening.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
MUST BE ABLE TO: bend-reach-stoop, lift 50 lbs, sit/drive for extended periods.
