AWS Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform, supporting GitHub Actions workflows and YAML-based configurations.
• Investigate and troubleshoot infrastructure issues as they arise.
• Write and maintain government documentation and SOPs.
• Communicate directly with clients in a clear, professional, and service-minded way.
• Document systems and processes continuously as the work evolves.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on AWS infrastructure and platform work.
• Extensive hands-on experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Working knowledge of YAML, particularly as it applies to Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Prominent recent experience with automation.
• Solid technical writing ability including government documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and a genuine service mindset.
• Able to document systems as work progresses, not just after the fact.
• Familiarity with Python and/or BASH.

Preferred

• Comfortable using AI tools to assist with syntax while understanding the underlying configuration (what it does and why it breaks).
