About the role

As an AWS Backend/Salesforce Integration Rules Engine Developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations are both secure and efficient. Your responsibilities will involve developing a flexible business rules engine, extracting data from Salesforce cases, performing data validation, executing business rules, and integrating these outcomes back into Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Develop framework for a flexible business rules engine.
  • Extract data from Salesforce cases for processing.
  • Perform data validation and execute business rules against structured Salesforce data and results of an unstructured AI data processing pipeline.
  • Perform detailed logging for auditability and traceability of rules outcomes.
  • Return business decisions and validation outcomes to Salesforce.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing RESTful services and event-driven backends in AWS.
  • Expert-level experience in Python programming, including the implementation of concurrent processing techniques for high-throughput batch workloads; all solutions must ensure processing results are fully auditable and traceable.
  • Hands-on expert-level experience implementing business rules and/or decision logic that translates business requirements into deterministic processing.
  • Production experience with AWS, including: S3, Lambda, ECS/Fargate or Batch, ECR, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch.
  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Relational and NoSQL databases, such as Postgres and/or DynamoDB, and database caching APIs using Redis.
  • Experience integrating AWS with Salesforce.
  • Experience with Docker image builds and deployment through CI/CD using Git, Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience creating and performing Unit Testing and code coverage using pytest and/or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with agile development and tools, including JIRA.
  • Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience.
  • Experience consuming outputs from ML/AI systems (predictions, classifications, extracted data) and integrating them into downstream applications.
  • Experience with hybrid architectures combining deterministic rules with LLM inference.
  • Experience handling PII/PHI under HIPAA or similar (VPC isolation, encryption, least-privilege IAM, audit logging).
  • Experience with Healthcare claims, insurance, or other regulated document workflows.
  • SQL analytics environments (Snowflake, Redshift) for pipeline reporting and validation.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
