This position is based in the United States and supports the effective management of complex international awards, grants, and contracts across a global organization. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with donor requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen award management processes.

About the role

The Awards Management Consultant will review and interpret award terms, identify risks, and develop practical solutions to enable successful program delivery. You will provide expert guidance on donor regulations, contract interpretation, and compliance frameworks, contributing to impactful initiatives in a mission-driven, international development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret award terms and conditions for potential opportunities, grants, and contracts.
  • Support the management of awards funded by private foundations, corporate donors, foreign governments, and international funding institutions.
  • Provide guidance to teams on compliance requirements and identify opportunities to improve award management processes.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and revision of award documentation and support negotiations to achieve favorable contractual outcomes.
  • Prepare award briefs and provide recommendations regarding compliance obligations, risks, and implementation considerations.
  • Develop sub-agreement templates aligned with various donor and funding requirements.
  • Research donor regulations and recommend risk mitigation strategies and practical solutions for program teams.
  • Stay current on industry developments, regulatory updates, and best practices while supporting training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities related to award compliance and management as needed.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of the international development donor landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting donor regulations, assessing contractual risks, and developing compliance solutions.
  • Experience managing awards funded by private foundations and corporate donors, including grant negotiations, agreement administration, reporting requirements, amendments, and donor compliance.
  • Knowledge of foreign government, multilateral development bank, and international organization funding regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working with funding requirements from organizations such as international financial institutions, development banks, United Nations agencies, and other global funding entities.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual information.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to advise diverse stakeholders across different functions and regions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and provide practical recommendations in a dynamic environment.
