Awake Overnight CNA or HHA

About the role

Vinfen is a nonprofit organization providing community-based services to individuals with various disabilities and health conditions. This position involves working in a clinically intensive program for a unique and specialized population.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living according to each individual's treatment plan and ISP.
• Makes observations and administers medication and treatments according to the Medication Administration Program (MAP).
• Ensures the nutritional needs of individuals served are met.
• Trains and supports individuals in completing ADLs, including showering, personal hygiene, dressing, and household chores.
• Conducts fire and safety training and documents as required.
• Assists with transportation to medical, dental, and other appointments as directed.
• Maintains a safe, clean, welcoming, and respectful environment for individuals served.
• Documents nursing care and services provided as per Vinfen's policies and procedures.
• Communicates effectively with managers, colleagues, and families of individuals served.
• Works with assistive and medical equipment, ensuring its maintenance.
• Engages individuals served in home/program events and community events.
• Advocates for individuals served and develops relationships with families and other significant relationships.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, and community meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), preferably with people with developmental disabilities.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driver’s screening background check.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper techniques.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
