AVP, Vendor Strategy & Cost Management

For our client, we are seeking a AVP, Vendor Strategy & Cost Management to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will lead enterprise-level vendor cost management initiatives that improve transparency, identify savings, and strengthen financial decision-making across the organization. The position partners closely with Finance, Operations, and sourcing stakeholders to evaluate spend, shape governance standards, and support strategic negotiations with key suppliers. It is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a finance professional who can combine analytical rigor, contract insight, and executive communication to drive measurable value. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $163,600 – $220,400 annually Responsibilities Lead enterprise vendor spend transparency and optimization initiatives Analyze vendor expenditures to identify savings opportunities and utilization trends Establish standards for reporting, utilization reviews, and sourcing governance Develop executive dashboards for vendor financial performance insights Conduct comprehensive analysis of vendor price and quantity across portfolios Challenge business assumptions regarding vendor utilization and spending Negotiate significant vendor agreements and develop favorable negotiation strategies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or a related field 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, finance, consulting, procurement, or healthcare operations 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams or enterprise initiatives Demonstrated success in leading complex negotiations with national and enterprise suppliers Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills Experience creating business cases and financial recommendations for executives Strong understanding of contract management principles and vendor governance Benefits Flexible remote work arrangement with travel requirements Opportunity to influence strategic financial decisions across the organization Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Finance and Operations Leadership role that fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Mentorship opportunities for developing sourcing professionals and analysts Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
