AVP, Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications following coding standards and best practices to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Provide technical input on application architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and delivery processes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance application scalability, productivity, and efficiency; build application roadmaps and tech debt remediation plans.
• Create, maintain, and enforce standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions to ensure consistency and maintainability.
• Analyze business needs presented by users or clients and recommend/deliver technical solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of the commercial and real estate lending lifecycle.
• Review code contributions from other engineers to ensure quality and architectural soundness.
• Ensure compliance with Bank OZK and internal/external regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Exercise discretion and judgment in performing essential job functions.
• Maintain good punctuality and attendance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology or computer science, or commensurate work experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in application development and business solutions delivery.
• 5+ years of experience with one or more programming languages, preferably C#.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python or R.
• Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with latest development frameworks to develop scalable, performant web and desktop applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of technology change processes and hands-on application development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio and coding in C#.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while delivering quality work on time.
• Ability to contribute to application architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and delivery processes.
• Ability to form and manage effective working relationships.
• Professional composure and ability to execute under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Skills

• Proficiency in R or Python.
• Experience creating and consuming RESTful Web Services like WebAPI.
• Skill in using DB tools like SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) or DBeaver.
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server.
• Skill or ability to learn integration, data management, data marts, and ETL.
