AVP, Senior Network Engineer
About the Role
LPL is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Datacenter Network Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for the design, engineering, and operations of our LAN/WAN and hybrid Data Center (cloud and on-prem) environments. The position directly relates to providing scalable, resilient, and secure networking solutions for LPL, our Advisors, and their clients.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and architect Data Center, Cloud, and LAN/WAN networking solutions.
- Configuration and deployment of both on-premise and cloud-based networking technologies.
- Responsible for the network domain as part of our DR strategy.
- Wide area network design, deployments, and administration of MPLS, DIA, and SDWAN.
- Collaborate effectively with various teams within the organization.
- Troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues and develop continuous improvement.
- Participate in an on-call schedule rotation.
- Technical lead for team helping drive direction and mentoring team members.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Data Center Core Network Engineering and Architecture experience in a Cisco-centric environment
- 2+ years of Cisco NDO & ACI, Nexus, and Catalyst
- 2+ years of experience in large transformation programs
- 2+ years of Data Center migration and Hybrid Cloud Networking experience
Skills
- Strong knowledge of network engineering, network security, and firewalls
- Expert knowledge of dynamic Routing Protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Proven ability to meet designated deadlines and ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate and educate others about complex technology with business acumen
- Experience designing, architecting, planning and implementing routing, switching and data center solutions and strategies in multi-vendor environment
Preferences
- CCIE Certification preferred
- Hands-on experience and engineering/architecture level expertise in Cisco ACI, and switches such as Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000 and 2000 Switches
- Current Cisco Certified Design Professional and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification
- Infoblox DNS/DHCP expertise
- Cloud Networking (i.e. AWS, Azure) experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Pay
Pay Range: $103,618.00 - $172,628.00. Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
