AVP, Portfolio Credit Manager
About the role
This role supports credit risk management of the Travel Cobrand portfolios, with primary accountability for identifying and managing consumer credit risk across all components of the cardholder life-cycle through data gathering and analytics. Responsibilities include Credit Risk reporting and analysis, and collaboration with retail clients and internal teams to minimize risk while driving portfolio growth.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with retail clients to minimize risk for Synchrony Financial and the retailer while supporting portfolio growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive smart growth and client satisfaction while ensuring safety and soundness in the portfolio
- Prepare and present client-facing and leadership team presentations to facilitate informed decisions
- Lead enhanced strategies using champion/challenger methodologies to manage credit and fraud risk
- Provide analytics and input for deal and promotional pricing activities
- Coordinate multisite/country resources to deliver accurate monthly MIS and reporting to meet internal and external requirements
- Coordinate planning cycles with client teams to ensure consistency in business plans
- Provide clear guidance to the organization on risk appetite and prudent growth
- Maintain effective and credible challenge of critical decisions and business processes
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in a consumer and/or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance, or Analytics role; or in lieu of a bachelor's degree, 8+ years in a consumer and/or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance, or Analytics role
- 3+ years’ experience analyzing large data sets to derive strategic, actionable credit insights using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or other related analytic tools
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Pay
The salary range for this position is $115,000.00 – $200,000.00 USD annually and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level, or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle.
