Key Responsibilities
- Lead general ledger close processes on a monthly and annual basis
- Oversee insurance operations accounting, including premium lifecycle and receivables
- Manage carrier payables and account current reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with fiduciary and premium trust accounting standards
- Perform financial analysis, variance reporting, and cost center performance reviews
- Drive process improvements, automation, and accounting system enhancements
Qualifications
- 6–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably within insurance, MGA, brokerage, or carrier environments
- Strong expertise in general ledger, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a working manager capacity
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA, MBA, or MAcc preferred)
- Experience with financial close, audits, and budgeting processes
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or agency management systems
