AVP, Claims Manager – Casualty – up to $194,000

About the role

A global insurance carrier is seeking an AVP, Claims Manager – Casualty to lead a team of 5‑7 Senior Claims Professionals handling commercial general liability and excess casualty claims (including premise liability, product liability, commercial auto BI and other BI claims). The role serves as a technical referral point for complex claims, coverage and litigation matters within casualty/excess casualty and drives team performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5‑7 Senior Claims Professionals handling commercial general liability and excess casualty claims.
• Drive performance and growth of the claims team, including managing attorneys.
• Act as a technical referral point for complex claims, coverage, and litigation matters within casualty/excess casualty.
• Provide extensive exposure to litigation and coverage investigation, including large‑loss CGL policies.
• Work closely with Legal/Claims Counsel and other internal and external teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience within casualty/commercial general liability claims, including complex, large‑loss casualty cases above $1M in value.
• Experience with excess casualty claims highly preferred.
• Ability to drive performance and grow a claims team, including managing attorneys.
• Extensive exposure to litigation and coverage investigation essential – including large loss CGL policies.
• Experience working closely with Legal/Claims Counsel and other internal/external teams.

Pay

Excellent base salary up to $194,000 + 20% annual bonus.

Schedule

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office per week from locations in NYC, NJ, Chicago, Atlanta, or Dallas. Fully remote candidates cannot be considered.
