Responsibilities
- Design and support AVL systems and integrations
- Work on vehicle-mounted GPS and telematics infrastructure
- Cooky cellular backhaul for AVL data
- Integrate AVL feeds with CAD and dispatch systems
- Work with mapping platforms and situational awareness tools
- Coordinate with allied agencies on interoperable AVL data during major incidents
- Shape how the agency's real-time asset location infrastructure evolves as fire seasons grow longer and more complex
Requirements
- Specialized engineering background
- Experience with AVL systems and infrastructure
- Technical skills in vehicle-mounted GPS and telematics
- Experience integrating AVL feeds with CAD and dispatch systems
- Knowledge of mapping platforms and situational awareness tools
- Ability to coordinate with allied agencies on interoperable AVL data
- Experience shaping the evolution of real-time asset location infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in AVL systems and infrastructure
- Experience with vehicle-mounted GPS and telematics
- Experience integrating AVL feeds with CAD and dispatch systems
- Experience working with mapping platforms and situational awareness tools
- Experience coordinating with allied agencies on interoperable AVL data
- Experience shaping the evolution of real-time asset location infrastructure
Skills
- Strong understanding of AVL systems and infrastructure
