About the role
Leidos Defense provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support.
The Leidos Defense Systems Integration and Test Team is seeking an Avionics Test Team Lead. We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including but not limited to kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms as well as RADAR and other surveillance and sensor technologies. Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer. We strive to have a variety of skillsets personally and across the team to meet the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the customer and contractors to execute program requirements.
- Create, modify, and execute test plans to satisfy program requirements.
- Complete requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
- Coordinate test personnel and equipment across multiple events.
- Work directly with OEMs and internal manufacturing to reliably get product to market.
- Brief both internal and external parties on test results and data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or an MS with 6+ years.
- Knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
- Experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
- Direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- US Citizenship is required and active secret clearance.
- May require working outside in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- May require minimal travel for test events (approximately 4 weeks a year).
Preferred Qualifications
- At least eight years of experience with test planning and execution.
- Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator).
- Working knowledge of software languages Python, C, C++, C# and/or firmware languages for Xilinx or Altera devices.
- Experience with Linux, Matlab, Labview, and WireShark.
- Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management.
- Planning and executing demonstration tests and US Government test ranges/facilities.
Pay
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
