About the Role

Jetvia is seeking a highly experienced Avionics Technical Specialist responsible for fleet-wide avionics reliability, troubleshooting leadership, and technical direction across all aircraft. This role serves as the organization’s primary avionics subject matter expert (SME), supporting Maintenance, Operations, and Leadership in ensuring safe, reliable, and mission-ready aircraft availability. This individual will play a critical role in AOG recovery events, avionics system troubleshooting, upgrade planning, and long-term reliability strategy across the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet Avionics Oversight
    • Monitor and manage all avionics-related discrepancies across the fleet
    • Track recurring avionics issues and drive root-cause corrective actions
    • Maintain fleet-wide visibility of avionics reliability trends
    • Ensure consistency in troubleshooting and repair standards across locations
  • AOG Support & Recovery
    • Act as primary avionics escalation point during AOG events
    • Provide real-time technical guidance to maintenance teams and vendors
    • Coordinate rapid troubleshooting and recovery strategies to minimize downtime
    • Support remote diagnostics and on-site troubleshooting as required
  • Technical Authority & Decision Support
    • Serve as avionics SME in maintenance and operations leadership meetings
    • Provide technical recommendations on deferred discrepancies, MEL decisions, and operational impact
    • Advise DOM and VP of Maintenance on avionics-related dispatch decisions
    • Standardize troubleshooting procedures across the organization
  • Upgrades & Modifications
    • Evaluate and coordinate avionics upgrades, service bulletins, and modifications
    • Work with OEMs and vendors on installation planning and execution
    • Ensure upgrades align with operational needs, budget, and fleet strategy
    • Support STC evaluations and integration planning
  • Vendor & OEM Coordination
    • Liaise with avionics manufacturers, repair stations, and field support teams
    • Evaluate vendor performance and technical effectiveness
    • Coordinate warranty claims and technical support escalation
    • Ensure vendors meet Jetvia operational expectations for responsiveness and quality
  • Operational Integration
    • Participate in daily & weekly Maintenance/Operations coordination meetings
    • Align avionics reliability with dispatch and scheduling requirements
    • Communicate aircraft status and risks to leadership in real time
    • Support proactive maintenance planning to reduce operational disruption
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Ensure proper documentation of avionics repairs and modifications
    • Support FAA compliance requirements related to avionics systems
    • Maintain accurate tracking of avionics-related logbook entries and compliance items

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years of Learjet 60 avionics experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including the ability to mentor, develop, and train technical personnel
  • Extensive experience within corporate aviation and/or Part 135 and Part 145 maintenance environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic background with turbine aircraft avionics systems
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance practices, and avionics installation standards
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and time-sensitive operational environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support aircraft maintenance events, AOG recoveries, vendor visits, training, and operational requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Collins Pro Line integrated avionics systems
