About the role

As a SkyWest A&P Mechanic, you will be part of a fast-paced environment full of variety, working on our growing fleet of aircraft. This role offers a $7,500 bonus for those with military A&P experience, contingent on a three-year commitment to SkyWest. You’ll gain new skills while performing nose-to-tail aircraft maintenance, collaborating with a world-class team of mechanics, and playing a crucial role in SkyWest operations.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all FAA and safety-related requirements.
  • Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems.
  • Make timely, critical decisions regarding aircraft safety.
  • Ensure proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork.
  • Perform avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads), and system troubleshooting in a hangar environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P certificate.
  • Familiarity with company, manufacturer, and wire-diagram manuals, including schematics.
  • Basic avionics skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter, collaborate in a team environment, and use aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems.
  • Possess a minimum set of tools (see minimum tool list).
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exercise good judgment in teamwork and aircraft maintenance/safety.
  • Comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must hold or obtain a FCC GROL license within six months of hire date.
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications

Experience/training must meet one of the following:

  • Graduated from an accredited avionics school.
  • Military training in avionics or electronics.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in electronics.
  • Eighteen months’ experience in the avionics industry.
  • A&P certification with previous avionics experience.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Graduated from an accredited avionics school.
  • Military training in avionics or electronics.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in electronics.

Other Notes
