Responsibilities
- Work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define the hardware interfaces
- Design the detailed harnesses including definition of the harness routing
- Design and s enclosures for environmental protection
- Design the structural mounts for securing the hardware in the airplane
- Design, install, and s your hardware on a remotely operated aircraft
- Be an instrumental part of how our hardware teams come together on the airplane
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 2+ years experience in mechanical or avionics hardware design
- Experience routing harnessing (both in CAD and physically in the airplane)
- Experience working with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable/wire protection methods
- Experience designing and analyzing structural mounts
- A love of spatial packaging
- Logical, inquisitive, and eager to both teach and learn
Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in harness design and avionics packaging
- Experience performing design trades for and detail design of aerospace flight harnesses
- Experience with NX routing and Capital Harness Designer
- Experience designing avionics enclosures
- Experience working on certification-path aviation development projects
- Experience sing hardware to DO-160 requirements

- The estimated salary range for this position is $118,000 to $170,000/annual salary + cash and stock option awards + benefits
