About the role
The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As part of a hardworking team of engineering professionals, you will design, analyze, and test avionics enclosures for electronic components on various spacecrafts.
Responsibilities
- Design rugged avionics enclosures that survive launch and space environments
- Partner with electrical engineers to integrate and protect PCB systems
- Conduct critical thermal and structural analyses to ensure reliability
- Create technical documentation and engineering drawings
- Lead trade studies to find optimal solutions for complex design challenges
- Support testing to verify your designs meet mission requirements
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar engineering discipline
- 2+ years designing electro-mechanical avionics assemblies
- Strong 3D CAD skills (especially Creo/Pro-E)
- Experience with GD&T implementation (ASME Y14.5)
- Background in ruggedized electronics protection
- Knowledge of PCBA integration, manufacturing, and connector selection
- Experience with EMI shielding, thermal management, and structural protection
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay
Base Pay Range For CO applicants is $98,208.00 - $137,491.20
WA applicants is $107,136.00 - $149,990.40
