Avionics Line Maintenance Technician - Provo, UT

About the role

The Avionics Line Maintenance Technician, with moderate supervision, performs inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, removal and replacement of aircraft instrument and avionics components and systems using various hand tools and test equipment to meet manufacturer's specifications, FAR's, industry standards and Duncan approved procedures in a safe and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, performs basic troubleshooting, repairs, test, removes and replaces avionics and instrument wiring and systems installed in various airframes.
• Uses hand tools, test equipment and technical documents.
• Orders necessary parts to complete the job.
• Performs basic checkout of aircraft systems that interface with avionics systems.
• Enters description of work completed on the work order and properly documents removal and installation of aircraft parts and components according to approved data and Duncan approved procedures.
• Affords assistance to bench technicians in the resolution of discrepancies in avionics and instrument components and systems removed from aircraft.
• Accompanies flight crews to perform in-flight troubleshooting and adjustments and performs preflight evaluations of avionics and instrument systems.
• Maintains and cleans line maintenance test equipment and work area as required.
• Operates ground support equipment as necessary.
• Attends factory and company technical classes and participates in OJT to increase technical skills and proficiency.
• Maintains training log and keeps it updated.
• Able to work all alternate shifts of the department as needed, and accomplish road trips within the United States and abroad as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
• Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 75 lbs.; read small print; identifies colors; repetitive motion; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting.
• Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• One to three years related Avionics, Electronics, Airframe Maintenance or related experience required.

Skills

• Ability to work all alternate shifts of the department as needed.
• Ability to travel within the United States and abroad as needed.
