Avionics Electronics Technician - 1st Shift (Onsite)
Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite) – U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
About the role
As an Avionics Electronics Technician at Collins Aerospace, you will perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of various moderate to complex electronic avionics equipment in an FAA-regulated environment. This role involves working with products returned from airlines, dealers, airframes, and end users, adhering to Collins Aerospace Workmanship and Quality Standards.
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. The candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40.
Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and modify avionics equipment under general supervision.
- Conduct technical analysis of products, modifications, and enhancements according to customer requirements and approved documentation.
- Perform soldering of fine pitch and SMD components.
- Assess product needs based on customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot technical problems down to the component level using a strong understanding of electronic theory.
- Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
- May involve lifting 25+ pounds and standing for multiple hours consecutively without sitting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.
- Prior experience working in a Collins Aerospace MRO environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electronics Trade School or Military training equivalent for repairing electronics.
- Prior experience troubleshooting to component-level.
- Prior soldering experience in a related environment.
- Knowledge of SAP, FAA Part 145, or RF electronics.
Schedule
1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $41,400 – $72,600 USD.
