Join Our Team and become a member of the US Navy's Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Tactical Avionics Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63-year-old Program with a long-standing history of Mission Success. You will thrive in an exciting fast-paced dynamic environment.

Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9×80 schedule in the office full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering execution of the design and integration of Mechanical, Harness, and Parts (MH&P) hardware for the Tactical Avionics subsystem.
  • Deliver hardware deliverables on schedule in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.
  • Encompass all Development and Production scope for Enclosures, Harness, connectors, pressure transducers, Gages, Water cooling, and EEE Parts for the Tactical Avionics portion of the D5LE2 missile.
  • Lead the development and release process of all engineering artifacts required to support build of Enclosures, Harness, connectors, pressure transducers, Gages, Water cooling, EEE Parts, and other miscellaneous materials needed to support the build process.
  • Serve as the single engineering authority for all subcontract actions including SOW, Specs, RFP, Proposal technical evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier technical direction.
  • Lead the technical execution of component build and test at suppliers and support test planning and execution at the AI&T facility.
  • Lead the product development and work with the AI&T team for successful package level build and test.
  • Lead Production planning and preparation efforts inclusive of material acquisition, facility and test planning, support equipment planning, and requirements generation.
  • Report status of all deliverables to the D5LE2 Tactical Avionics program managers (PMs).
  • Provide technical guidance and status to Executive leadership including the FBM Director of Avionics and the D5LE2 Program Director.
  • Manage the application of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing.
  • Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee support and participation in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or related STEM degree.
  • 2+ years leadership experience developing products for high reliability Aerospace applications.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electromechanical, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related STEM degree.
  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience.

Skills

  • Experience in the design of connectors, cable harnesses, enclosures, or EEE parts for high-reliability Aerospace applications.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $145,100.00 – $269,500.00
