AVID Tutor - High School

Job Summary

Under supervision, use specific teaching methodologies and materials to work with AVID students. Tutors work with AVID students in study groups and individually, assisting them in all academic areas.

Responsibilities

• Apply specific teaching methodologies and materials with AVID students.
• Facilitate study groups and provide one‑on‑one assistance across all academic subjects.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent; currently enrolled in or graduated from a college or university preferred.
• Knowledge of: The writing process; basic math and science skills; correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and mathematical computations.
• Interpersonal relations skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Schedule

San Dimas High School – Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm (School Year, Part‑time).

Pay

Single rate: $17.44 per hour.
