About the role
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a college-readiness acceleration system for middle- and high-school students. The AVID elective course teaches essential learning skills, reinforces the academic core, and supports students in rigorous courses. AVID tutors provide direct, collaborative instructional support to students in tutorial groups under the guidance of an AVID elective teacher, acting as role models to help prepare students for college success.
Schedule
- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:15am–12:15pm and 1:15–2:15pm (8 hours per week)
- Start date: 2026–2027 school year
- Student level: grades 6–8
Pay
$17.25–$19.50 per hour (per Non-Affiliated Rates of Pay).
Requirements
- Available Tuesday and Thursday during the school day
- Current enrollment in college courses or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must have reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
