Aviation Security Cargo Clearance Agent

About the Role

Intercepts, analyzes, researches, and investigates domestic and international packages of interest to ensure regulatory compliance and cargo security. Analyzes shipments using cargo screening equipment to ensure safe and compliant shipment movement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and secure movement of cargo shipments through warehouses, airports, and other aviation facilities.
• Maintain and enforce aviation security regulations to prevent unauthorized access and mitigate potential risks to cargo shipments and aircraft movement.
• Perform cargo screening using equipment such as X-ray machines and explosive trace detection systems.
• Complete annual cargo screening training and certification.
• Conduct comprehensive facility and equipment assessments as required.
• Lift and maneuver packages, including those weighing over 50 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in law enforcement, military, security, or as a Ramp Agent, Sr. International Doc Agent, or similar role, or a combination of both.
• Knowledge of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) procedures relating to regulatory, aviation security, and threat mitigation (preferred).
• Must successfully complete required training programs, including initial Global Screening certification and all annual and recurrent regulatory training.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Fingerprinting required.

Job Conditions

• Must be able to individually lift 50 pounds repetitively and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Work in a warehouse environment.
• Annual completion of cargo screening training and certification required.

Pay

$26.70/hr - $32.04/hr

Location

This position will be based in Oakland, California. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
