Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Global Safety Management System (SMS).
- Analyze safety data and feedback to address deficiencies.
- Ensure timely corrective actions are taken.
- Manage and enhance SMS processes to mitigate corporate and operational risks.
- Drive achievement of Safety Performance Targets through structured planning and safety training initiatives.
- Mentor and support training center personnel to promote continuous safety improvement.
- Plan and conduct annual safety audits to maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
- Support digital training and operational safety initiatives aligned with CAE’s mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience coordinating or supporting Safety Management Systems within aviation training organizations or airlines.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks (e.g., ICAO, Transport Canada, FAR, CASA, EASA, or other National Aviation Authorities).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex safety, technical, and operational events and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including: occasionally climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles; moving through tight or confined spaces as needed; remaining stationary (sitting or standing) for extended periods; occasionally lifting or adjusting items up to 50 lbs; frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions.
Qualifications
- Current or previous holder of an ICAO-recognized Flight Crew License up to ATPL level.
- Type Rating Instructor certification.
- Experience mentoring or training personnel in safety practices and compliance environments.
- Experience leading or participating in safety audits.
